Privacy notice
This is the whole of it. There is no longer version hidden in a terms-of-service page, and nothing here is written to be difficult.
What we collect
- Your name and mobile number, when you sign in or ask to visit a home.
- Your email address, only if you sign in with Google. Google does not give us a phone number.
- What you tell us: the localities, budget and size you are looking for, the homes you enquire about, and the messages you send us in the chat.
- Nothing else. We do not track you across other websites, we do not run advertising pixels, and we do not buy data about you.
Why we have it
- To call you back, arrange a visit, and take you through a tenancy. That is the entire purpose.
- To count how we are doing — how many people asked, how many were shown a home, how many rented one. Those counts are about the business, not about you.
Who sees it
- Only the InstaProperty team.
- Brokers and owners never get your number from us. That is the point of the service: you deal with us, and nobody else calls you.
- We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.
- Your number goes to our SMS provider for the one purpose of delivering your sign-in code, and to nobody else.
How long we keep it
- If your enquiry is closed as dropped, we erase the name and number attached to it after 12 months.
- If you rented a home through us, we keep the record of that tenancy, because a completed transaction has tax and accounting consequences. If you ask us to erase you, we redact your name and number from it and keep only the transaction itself.
- Chat messages are erased with your account.
Your rights
- You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to erase it.
- You can withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawing it means we stop, and it does not undo what was already lawful before you withdrew.
- You can erase your account yourself, below, without asking anyone.
- You can nominate someone to exercise these rights if you die or become incapable.
Complaints
- Talk to us first — the InstaProperty team, 7240291477 7240291477. We will acknowledge within 48 hours.
- If we do not fix it, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India. Coming to us first is required before you do, and is usually faster anyway.
